for NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Examination

COURSE INFORMATION

This 45-hour course is designed for those Nuclear Medicine Technologists preparing to take the NMTCB  examination. It meets the requirements of the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and provides the requisite number of hours in the following areas, as specified on the NMTCB website: 15 hours of Physics and Instrumentation, 15 hours of Radiopharmacy, and 15 hours of Radiation Safety. Certificates of completion are readily accepted by the NMTCB. The course is entirely on-line and serves as an excellent preparation for the Board Examination.

Integrated into this course are presentations that cover all the Basic Science of Nuclear Medicine. These include Nuclear Medicine Physics, Radionuclide Generators, Radioisotope Production, Radiopharmaceuticals, PET Radiopharmaceuticals, NRC Regulations, Hot Lab Quality Control Procedures, Scintillation Detection, Gamma Camera design, Operation, and Quality Control, PET, SPECT, In Vivo Non-Imaging Procedures, Radionuclide Therapy, Internal Radiation Dosimetry, and related topics. It provides practicing Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Nuclear Medicine administrators, and representatives of industry the opportunity for a comprehensive review of the Basic Science of Nuclear Medicine.
