COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 60 hour, 7-day course is the most comprehensive review course offered in Chicago. It covers Radiation Physics, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Digital Imaging, Radiation Safety, Radiopharmacy, Generators and Equilibrium, Radiobiology, Scintillation Detection, PET and SPECT, Quality Control of Imaging Equipment, Computers, Radiation Dosimetry, Statistics,  In Vivo Non-Imaging Studies, Radionuclide Therapy, Quality Control, and other topics of interest to Radiology Residents. Practice examinations containing hundreds of questions will be mailed to all attendees along with the acknowledgment letter indicating receipt of the registration form. This intensive review will be presented in concentrated form with ~450 pages of lecture notes containing more than 2,500 PowerPoint slides. These lecture handouts are continually being updated to reflect state-of-the-art knowledge. Questions are welcomed at any time during the course. An integral part of the course includes problem solving.

Notes:

An acknowledgement letter will be sent to each registrant along with practice examinations in each area of expertise. Pertinent information regarding transportation to and around the Chicago area will also be included.

At 7:30 each morning, there will be a Continental Breakfast. You are on your own for lunch, which is scheduled from 12 noon to 1pm each day.

Tuition Fee:
$700 for the seven-day course. If you register and pay before July 5, 2010, the "early bird" tuition fee will be reduced to $650. This fee must accompany the registration form. If you choose to take our course 2 years in a row, tuition the second year is $400. Included in the fee are all continental breakfasts, coffee breaks, handouts, and miscellaneous course materials. There is a $50 charge for cancellation requests, which must be in writing. There are no refunds after the course begins.

Hotel:
A block of rooms has been reserved at the beautiful Oak Brook Marriott  Hotel, 1401 W. 22nd St, Oak Brook, IL 60523.  The hotel’s telephone # is 800/228-9290. The 2010 room rate: $117 per night, single or double. Rooms are blocked until 3 weeks before each session, and then released for public sale. Parking is free at the course hotel. Air Travel:
It is most convenient to fly into O'Hare International Airport.
An alternative airport is Chicago Midway Airport, which is approximately 25 mile from the hotel. In either case, when you have your luggage, simply call American Taxi at 847/255-9614 and give the dispatcher your location. Their driver will pick you up within 5-10 minutes. Fare to the hotel is about $35-40 from O’Hare or Midway. The fare may be shared with other riders going to the same hotel.
